Coming Fall 2015

The Ingersoll center section will undergo a major renovation in spring and summer of 2015 to open up the space and create new study, kitchen, and social spaces.

Renovation Features

  • The center section will be significantly opened up to allow more natural light into the lobby and lower level
  • The main entranceway on the West side as well as a resident entrance on the East side of the building will be completely renovated to create a more welcoming feel and give students easier access to the academic core of campus
  • An open-concept kitchen, multi-use seminar room, and new study and social spaces will be integrated into the space
  • A new laundry room will be added for resident convenience

Project Timeline

  • Ingersoll Hall was offline for the 2014-2015 academic year for the renovation
  • Renovations will be complete in Fall 2015

Sustainability Features

  • A focus on natural light will help reduce electricity use and make spaces more usable for residents and summer conference guests
  • Solar tubes and energy-efficient windows will replace original windows to help reduce heating and cooling costs and make interior spaces more comfortable
  • Reclaimed materials, including used long boards and reclaimed fir beams and wood features, will be integrated into the design
