Student RamCards

Colorado State University students are eligible to receive a RamCard. Your RamCard serves as your meal card, your pass to the student recreation center, identification for athletic tickets and much more! It can also hold money for convenience accounts, can be used for printing and copying, to purchase products from vending machines, and to check out materials at Morgan Library.

Students must be admitted and enrolled for the current semester before a RamCard can be issued. Undergraduate, graduate, professional (veterinary school), international, guest, and re-admitted students are eligible for a RamCard.

How to Get an ID

Students must be admitted and enrolled for the current semester before a RamCard can be issued. Undergraduate, graduate, professional (veterinary school), international, guest, and re-admitted students are eligible for a student ID card.

1. New RamCards are $18 and are charged to your student account
2. Come to the RamCard Office with one of the following: passport, driver's license, state identification card, or military ID. A RamCard will NOT be issued without proper identification. Our office is located in Room 31 of the Lory Student Center (next to Ramskellar).
3. You must have your CSUID number in order to get a RamCard
4. Be prepared to have your picture taken.
5. It usually takes about 5 minutes to get an ID card.

Adding Money to Your Account

***Money added to cards is not cash refundable, even if your card is lost, stolen, or damaged.*** RamCards and gold Visitor/Vending Cards can hold up to $50.

Cash to Card Machines

• You can use any of the 32 Cash to Card Machines on campus (located in all residence halls, Morgan Library, Clark A, and Lory Student Center).
• Insert your card FACE UP, FACE FIRST. (Put your thumb on the ram.)
• Insert exact amount you would like to add to your card; the Cash to Card Machines DO NOT give change.
• Watch the display screen to check the balance on your card.
• Push the red button to eject your card.
• Or, you may purchase a gold Visitor/Vending card for $1. After it is purchased, more money can be added to these cards the same way as RamCards.

At the RamCard Office

• You may come to our office and use cash, checks or credit cards to add money to your RamCard or gold Visitor/Vending cards.

Intramural Orders (IMOs)

• Colorado State University departments can create documents to pay for copy cards. These vending cards work only for copying and printing.
• After the document is created, come into our office with a copy of the electronic IMO and we will code a gold Visitor/Vending card for the value specified.
• We DO NOT accept DPOs.
• We cannot bill university department accounts, you must have an IMO created for the purchase.

Laundry

Your RamCard can be used to do laundry in any machine in the residence halls and university apartment complexes.

• One load of laundry is $1.00 per wash and $1.00 per drying cycle
• To use a machine, you must put money on your card or purchase a vending card
  1. Put your load of laundry in a washing machine
  2. Insert your card into card reader on the wall in the laundry room
  3. Enter the washing machine’s number
  4. Press the “#” key
  5. The screen should read “ready”
  6. Go back to your machine and choose the desired cycle

ID Card Replacements

• Broken, damaged or lost RamCards will be replaced for a non-refundable fee of $23.00
• To get a replacement RamCard, you must have your CSUID number and present a valid state-issued picture ID
• Once a card is replaced, the previous one is automatically invalidated and cannot be reactivated
• Replacements are charged to the student’s CSU account
• If your name or identification number changes, we will update and reissue your card at no cost. The University record must be updated before we can make a change.

Card Care

• Treat your RamCard as you would any other important ID Card
• DO NOT fold, bend, or expose your card to excessive heat
• DO NOT punch holes in your card or put it on a keychain bore. The CSU bookstore sells cardholders that protect your RamCard on a keychain or lanyard.
• Keys can (and do) damage the barcode on the front as well as the magnetic strips on the back.
• DO NOT use your RamCard to scrape ice off vehicle windows.
• Holes damage the magnetic strips on your card as well as the card readers in various machines on campus.
• Damaged RamCards will be replaced for a fee of $23.00
