Special Events Calendar for 2007-2008 (PDF)

Throughout each semester, Dining Services hosts a variety of fun special events like banquets, theme nights, ice cream socials and cooking classes as much needed monotony breakers for residence hall students. These special events are all included in the price of your meal plan!

Our most popular events are the ongoing Chef Series cooking classes. In these classes students learn from our Chefs how to work magic in the kitchen. These classes offere everything from Truffle Making to Cupcake Decorating and even How to Roll Your Own Sushi!

Professional Chefs

Karl Bendix, Executive Chef
Karl joined the American Culinary Federation in 1993 and was a 1997 recipient of the Presidential Medallion for his contributions to the Denver Chapter. Karl was the first executive chef hired at Colorado State University. With more than 20 years in the field, he has experience with menu development, dietary restriction and allergies and events planning and catering.

Chef Cynthia, Executive Chef
Cynthia graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.  One of the first female Executive Chefs at a major university, Cynthia came to CSU in 2004 from Virginia Tech and Duke University.  Her experience with college dining, paired with her accomplished background in catering, make Cynthia a great fit for her role as Executive Chef and Coordinator of Culinary Education at CSU.
