Nutritional Calculator FAQ's
Q. I don’t know what 4 ounces of chicken or beef looks like, how can I tell how much I am actually eating?
A. It is estimated that 3 ounces of cooked chicken or beef is about the size of a deck of cards or a cassette tape. Every additional 1 ounce will be about the size of your thumb or a pair of dice. For more information about serving sizes visit the www.mypyramid.gov website or contact Residential Dining Services at (970) 491-4754.
Q. If I want to know the ingredients in a recipe where can I get that information?
A. You may contact the Nutrition and Food Safety Coordinator at Brittney.Stuard@ColoState.EDU or (970) 491-4714 with your specific questions.
Q. Is the amount I’m served of a certain item consistent with the nutritional values given to me on the site?
A. Although we strive to keep our serving sizes consistent, due to human variation and customer requests they sometimes deviate from the standard recipe size. Please take into consideration that the values found on this site will be skewed when asking for more or less then you are originally given.
