The Apartment Life community is unique in that we strive to work and live together, and in the process, learn from one another in an atmosphere of positive contact and mutual respect.

In order to encourage and support global diversity within the areas, Apartment Life works with residents and staff to develop social, cultural, and educational events. The events provide opportunities for single students, students with families, and family members to adjust to their new life, while promoting autonomy, cooperative decision-making, and leadership development.

In addition to a degree, many of the Apartment Life residents and their families leave Colorado State University with a deeper awareness of how to connect with people from many different cultures. The residents' living environment allows the opportunity to develop multicultural associations leading to international friendships. The world is becoming globally inclusive through advanced technology, transportation and communication. Employment opportunities will be greater for those individuals who have developed cross-cultural competencies.
