Q: What are the requirements to live in the apartments?
To qualify as an Apartment Life resident you must:
- Be a CSU undergraduate student carrying at least 6 credit hours per semester or a CSU graduate student enrolled in one credit hour or continuous registration. Students may need to provide a letter from their advisor verifying their eligibility. Students do not have to be registered for summer classes, but must be pre-registered for the following fall semester.
- Be a CSU facuty or staff member. Faculty and staff residents are required to be full time employees, post-doctoral fellows, or visiting faculty. Faculty and staff may live in the apartments if space is available after all students have been placed.
Q: I submitted my application recently, when will I be assigned an apartment?
The Assignment Coordinator assigns apartments approximately 3 to 4 weeks before the date of requested occupancy. Please keep us informed of any address changes. Information regarding your address must be accurate to insure your receipt of assignment.
Q: Can I get my deposit back if I cancel my application?
Yes. The deposit is refundable at any time prior to your assignment. Your deposit will be refunded to your Colorado State University student account. If there are no outstanding charges, the deposit will be mailed to you in the form of a check. To receive a refund, contact:

Q: When is my deposit non-refundable?
Your deposit is non-refundable when:
- The office sends you an offer and you don't respond within the time limits given by the Assignment Coordinator.
- You accept an offer (confirmed) of an apartment, but you change your mind later (cancellation). In this case the deposit might cover part of the rent charges until the apartment is rented. A maximum of 30 days rent would be the responsibility of the applicant in case of cancellation.
Q: How does my apartment lease work?
Leases operate on a month-to-month basis. The Resident terminates the lease by submitting a completed "intent to vacate" form to the Apartment Complex Office. This must be done at least thirty (30) days in advance of actual date of departure. Residents will be responsible for rent for a period of at least 30 days after the date the "intent to vacate" is given.
Q: Can students living in University Apartments eat in the Residential Dining Centers?
Yes! On campus for breakfast, lunch, or dinner? Make your life easier with no shopping, cooking, or clean up. Decide what you are hungry for that day and select from our Fourteen delicious Food Courts.
Off Campus Meal Plans are available for residents in the University Apartments!
Q: What kind of furniture will be provided in my apartment?
Apartments can be furnished or non-furnished. Furnished apartments may include your choice of the following furniture (depending on availability):
- sofa or loveseat
- occasional (coffee) table
- dining table and chairs
- beds
- chest of drawers
- desk and chair
All mattresses are extra long : double bed: 54x80, or single bed:39x80. Drapes and major appliances are provided in both furnished and unfurnished apartments.
Q: Do furnished apartments cost more than unfurnished apartments?
No, the rental rate for furnished and unfurnished apartments is the same.
Q: Are there laundry facilities near by?
Laundry facilities with card-operated machines are provided in each area.

Q: Can I apply for a 3 bedroom apartment whether I have children or not?
Yes, you may apply for a 3 bedroom apartment, but priority goes to:
- Families with 3 or more children
- Families with 2 children
- Families with one child
- Families without children
Q: Can I view an apartment before I accept one?
Yes, to see an available apartment, please contact the Apartment Complex Office to schedule an appointment.

Q: Where can I pick up the keys to my assigned apartment?
The check-in process is completed at the Apartment Complex Office. If cleaning and maintenance work is complete, an apartment may be accepted before the assignment date. Rent begins on the assignment date or date of check-in, if earlier than the assignment date.
