GUIDE has three main focus areas:
Involvement, Diversity, and Education.
Involvement:
We can provide almost anything related to programming! From resources to brainstorming to advertising, we are there for you! The Involvement group has lists of programs centered around the ADICT model (Academics, Diversity, Involvement, Community Development, and Transition). We also have pre-made bulletin boards ready for you to use.
We can also provide assistance to residence hall staffs in implementing their own programming. This includes holding in-services and other trainings in which RAs can receive direction and helpful hints for generating ideas for programs, increasing interest and attendance at programs, using technology and multimedia for programs, and funding programs. Diversity:
We can provide training, as well as active and passive programs to incorporate many aspects of diversity. In our collection of trainings and programs, we have materials which cover gender, communication, sexual orientation, religion and spirituality, ethics and values, privilege, oppression, and allying. In our collection of resources we have movies, books, articles, ready-made bulletin boards, trainings and programs. The Diversity group is ready and willing to help create inclusive, accepting and caring communities and teams.
